Can bulbs grow through ajuga?
This plant is similar to the peppermint plant. I had made the mistake of plant peppermint and withing four years it was taking over my garden, I am still pulling and discarding it’s roots. The Bugle weed is great for weed control also, there is no room for weeds to sprout through. If you have bulbs in the ground they may make it through the first year, the following they will not get a chance. The extensive root system of this carpet plant will see to it that they will never again bloom, if you know where your bulbs are dig em out and move em. To keep the Ajuga or Bugle weed contained you need to start cutting the runners at the point where you wish it to stop. This task will be a forever task as the plant is extremely resilient and continue to grow quickly!
