Can Bristol Airport improve transport links?
One of the criticisms levelled at Bristol International Airport is the lack of transport links. People say that compared to Filton, which has convenient bus, rail and motorway links, Lulsgate is isolated and inaccessible. But going hand-in-hand with the proposed expansion of Bristol International are a range of transport improvements planned for the next decade. The West of England Partnership (WEP), made up of all four greater Bristol councils, is pushing through plans for an extension to the Avon Ring Road through south Bristol. It is currently consulting on a variety of options, including high-speed bus routes or a normal road, between A370 and the A38 over the Hartcliffe Roundabout and on to Hicks Gate.
