Can Breast Stretch Marks Go Away?
One thing that most women fear when they become pregnant is the existence of abdominal and breast stretch marks. When a woman becomes pregnant, the body size increases rapidly and hormones become very active. In the tummy area, for example, the skin is stretched more as the baby grows. The breast area, too, increases even more than two cup sizes. This rapid increase (or decrease) in the sizes of both the abdominal area and the breasts stretch the skin cells. Over an extended period, the skin layer becomes damaged and scarred. These scars appear as stretch marks. Normally, the skin has the capacity to be elastic. It can a normal amount of stretching without causing any damage. However, prolonged stretching of skin during pregnancy and obesity can cause skin layer damage. The skin’s flexibility has reached maximum, thus causing damage to the skin’s layer dermis. Breast stretch marks and the stretch marks that may appear on the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, and buttocks are not a disease.
