Bleach may be able to kill a nail infection, but the safety of its use is questionable because it can damage tissue. To treat with bleach, cut your nail and file the nail plate to allow the bleach to penetrate into your nail bed. Soak the infected nail in a solution of 1 tbsp. bleach mixed with 1 gallon of water for about 30 minutes a day until the infection disappears.
