Can BEx Reports, once displayed on the Web, be converted to Excel, not just PDF (to allow the users to further analyze/manipulate the data)?

BEx Reports can be exported from within a BEx Web Application that contains, for example, a button or hyperlink using the Web command “Export”. The export to MS Excel is possible for any Web Template, but after the export, the BEx connection is lost; for example, a further navigation within the data is not possible.
