A. Yes and Nothe Firefighter I certification is a requirement to become part of the career staff of the Scott Township Fire Department. Some people become volunteer firefighters in an attempt to become a firefighter with the City of Evansville. Being a volunteer firefighter has no real bearing in the application process of the Evansville Fire Department.
