Can BDAS test waterproofing membranes on ballasted roofs i.e. when a roof membrane is below slabs, stones, etc?
Yes! The major advantage of the “wet” testing method is that there is it is possible to test the roof without removing or disturbing the ballast. Further, testing can be applied to waterproofing membranes on inverted systems – note that the time taken to complete the testing will be appreciably longer than for non-inverted systems. Localised exposure works, dependent on findings, may, of course, be necessary.
