Yes, provided that the files are opened in shared (non-exclusive) mode. But in case of backing up open files you may encounter the problem of backup data consistency. Some applications keep interrelated data in several files. For example, a database can have a file for storing accounting transactions and a separate file for storing account balances. If such data are updated during backup, a mismatch may occour. E.g., transactions file was backed up before entering a new transaction, while the balances file was backed up after the transaction has been entered. To prevent this enable the “Check backup data consistency” checkbox in section’s parameters (“Options” page). If this checkbox is set Backupper will track files consistency during a manual or automatic backup and warn if the files were updated during backup.
