Can baby born in australia travel under my new zealand passport?

Your baby will need her own passport, but which one will depend on her nationality. You can only get an Australian passport for her if she is an Australian citizen and simply being born here isn’t enough to make her one. She is only an Australian citizen if one of her parents is an Australian citizen or PR. If her dad isn’t Australian or a PR (and on her birth certificate) and if you arrived after 26th February, 2001 and haven’t specifically been granted PR, she isn’t an Australian citizen and will have to get a NZ passport. http://www.citizenship.gov.
