Can ASBOs be issued to children?
Antisocial Behaviour Orders have been extended to 12-15 year olds to help deal with the small number of persistently antisocial young people. In cases involving a child, the sheriff must have regard to views of Principal Reporter before deciding on an interim order and the views of Childrens Panel before a full ASBO. A child cannot be imprisoned for breach of an order.
