Can ArtMatic take advantage of multiple processors/cores?
This tech note applies ONLY to versions 4.0 and later of ArtMatic. 1.2 and later of ArtMatic Voyager. 2.0 and later of VTrack. Even though our applications do single-threaded rendering (for technical reasons, multi-threaded rendering is not feasible at this time) there IS a way to take advantage of multiple processors on a single machine. If your computer has OS X.3 or later, there is a feature called Fast User Switching provided by the operating system. If you turn this on, you can render portions of your project as different users in parallel. When you do this, the operating system will assign each render to a different processor. So, on a quad-core machine, you can run 4 renders in parallel to speed up the render. Here is what you need to do: 0) Log in as a user with Admin privileges 1) Go to System Preferences -> Accounts 2) Select an account that has Admin privileges 2a) If there is an item in the window that says “Click the lock to make changes”, click on the lock and enter the n
