Can Artificial Intelligent Software Win a Creative Writing Contest?
Critics of Artificial Intelligence say that no computer can ever be creative as a human mind can. Yet, didn’t the same critics say that an artificial intelligent software program could not out think the World’s Champion Chess Player? Well, guess what, it did and that happened over 20-years ago. So, to say that an artificial intelligent software program will never be as creative as a human, well, that’s the problem with that word; Never! What would it take to silence the critics? Some say it will take a computer winning a poetry contest or winning a creative short-story writing contest, but, I say forget all that, because I envision a day, not so long from now when artificial intelligent computers will be writing entire novels. Books you will pay to buy, enjoy, love and refer to friends. And before you tell me I am nuts let me tell you a thing or two about how artificial intelligence works.
