Can Ariba Buyer and Oracle iProcurement support Direct Punchout?
The punch-out transactions in Ariba Buyer need to go through Ariba Supplier Network (ASN) for authentication. In theory Ariba Buyer can be configured to go through another supplier hub other than ASN, or a custom punch-out dispatch gateway. Oracle i-Procurement, on the other hand, supports direct punch-out. It is relatively easy to set up a punch-out catalog in iProcurement in direct punch-out mode. Please note that authentication and authorization become even more important for supplier portals supporting direct punch-out transactions.
