Can architectural education in Pakistan be compared to that in other countries?
JS: Architectural Curricula internationally has evolved dramatically in the last decade or so, and for us to produce viable professionals, we must look and see what means we need to adopt before it is too late. We can reach out and make exchange linkages of teachers from other countries near and far to give both our students as well as teachers exposure of how others are doing the same thing differently from us. We have a long way to go before we can afford comparison but its never too late to start. AT: To what extents can the modernized subjects in architectural education, which are prevalent internationally, be introduced here in Pakistan? JS: In today’s age of Information technology, linkages can be formed easily and subjects for which we don’t have teachers yet can be taught from afar by such linkage until the appropriate training can be arranged for interested teachers. AT: What is your best advice for the architectural institutions in Pakistan? JS: There is an accepted static si
