Can Apple hit target of 45 million iPhone sales?
Now that’s a lot of iPhones. Millions and millions and millions of them. Business Week reports that some analysts are projecting that Apple will sell as many as 45 million iPhones next year. Granted, that is a projection for worldwide sales. Nobody is expecting AT&T to use the iPhone to poach quite that many subscribers from Sprint and other rivals next year. While the Business Week piece doesn’t provide much of a country-specific breakout, the kinds of iPhone sales numbers being bandied about certainly would have implications for the U.S. wireless market. “Many analysts expect Apple to sell around 11 million iPhone 3Gs in 2008 and another 25 million in 2009.
