The Big Bang Theory is basically that the universe itself (i.e. space-time) expanded outward from a single point, being approximately 13.7 billion years old. It is corroborated by various sources, e.g. the Cosmic Microwave Background, galaxy recession velocities and implications of metric expansion. The Cosmological Argument, or First Cause Argument, is an argument for God, in that the universe had a beginning (likely citing evidence of the Big Bang) therefore there must have been a cause for the beginning. The cause is God. This argument is flawed for many reasons, one being the fact that ‘God’ is not a reasonable, scientific hypothesis. The Teleological Argument, or Argument from Design, is an argument for God based on perceived evidence of order, purpose, direction and/or design in nature.
