The object currently known as “Planet X” or “Nibiru” doesn’t exist. There is no giant planet in the outer solar system with a predicted close encounter with Earth on December 21, 2012 (or any other date). We know this for several reasons: –Planet X is supposedly 5-10 times the size of Earth. An object that size would have been easily visible in backyard telescopes decades ago. It would also have appeared in the multiple all-sky photographic surveys done since 1950. Since no such object has been seen, no such object exists. –An object as massive as Planet X is supposed to be would also have a gravitational effect on every other object in the solar system, including planets, moons, comets, asteroids, and space probes. All of these objects are exactly where they’re supposed to be, so there can’t be any unseen planet pulling them off course. –If a massive Planet X were in an elliptical orbit that took it through the inner solar system, it would eventually disrupt the orbits of all of th
