Can anyone tell me when early man began to speak words?
Of course we know that humans were in existence abouyt a million years ago, as small, herbivorous mammals. However, examinations of early skullshave shown that these early ancestors did not have a larynx well developed enough to articulate words. Doubtless these early people communicated by body language and grunts and sounds which was a sort of language. However at some time men began to speak and I have not been able to learn when that was and how we learned that it was possible for him to do so. If there are experts in thgat field in help.co I would be grateful for some input in this puzzling question. I would also like to know the source of the information so that I could follow up in this quest.
