We don’t know how old Trinculo and Stephano are in The Tempest – Shakespeare doesn’t tell us. They are unlikely to be very young – both of them have been around long enough to acquire serious drinking habits; but they are also probably not too old – people who drink that heavily develop health issues which neither seems to have just yet. Most directors put both characters in their thirties. There are full translations of most of the popular Shakespeare plays on the web, if you know where to look.
