UNICEF originally stood for United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. In 1953 it got changed into United Nations Children’s Fund but the original acronym was kept. Oxfam is UK established charity – a non-govermental organisation. UNICEF is part of the United Nations and is inter -governmental organisations with HQ at New York but operating very much all around the world – the main focus of UNICEF is children and their rights.
