Can anyone tell me more info about the SAS raid on the Iranian Embassy in London?
Your quite right it was ‘epic’ Info/facts: -1980, lasted six days before it was handed by police to the MOD (ministry of defence) SAS -Heathrow flight paths were re-routed to fly over the embassy as a distraction (my personal favorite) -The take down involved 20 SAS commandos storming from the windows, ground, roof etc… -Named Operation Nimrod -Take down performed bye he SAS CRW wing (Counter-Revolutionary Warfare) now renamed ‘Special Projects’ -Some of the 26 hostages complained about the SAS use of force (after they were out of harms way mind you!) For further info you might want to youtube ‘Mac’ , he is the SAS member filmed entering though the window and is now retired and very public about his 16-and-a-half years in the Regiment. Hope I helped, it is a very interesting subject!
