Ardaas is submission or prayer to God. There are so many shabads of ardas in Guru Granth. Tu Thakur Tum Peh ardas(You are my master and I pray to You) is a hymn in Bani Sukhmani(page 262), which is recited during ardas although it is not compulsory, any other shabad can also be used. The other ardas is not in Guru Granth Sahib because it contains name of Gurus, Five beloved, Khalsa, martyrs, forty muktas, Gurduraras, Takhats. It is a kind of community tribute. Guru says us that Gods listens heart without speaking. Present form of ardas was approved by Khalsa Panth after 1935.
