I made myself a statue of liberty costume when I was in high school, and it was relatively easy to do with great results. All you need to do for the dress is find a green sheet and drape it like you would a toga. For the crown, I believe I made mine out of cardboard glued to a headband, although I’ve also seen foam ones in Halloween stores for just a couple of dollars. I made a torch out of a cone shaped structure (could be cardboard, one of those styrofoam cones from craft stores, etc.) with red, orange, and yellow tissue paper to look like flames. As an optional touch, you can paint her face and arms green. Any type of sandal shoe would suffice. This is a great costume- easily recognizable and sure to be complimented! Good luck!
