Can’t be a lot of help except to say that I take erythromycin for annual chest infections which accompany every cold I catch, and have never been troubled with side effects. My only worry is that I will build a resistance to it. It could be that on top of your skin infection you have acquired an upper respiratory infection which has nothing to do with the antibiotic. I guess you have been prescribed Nasonex, which will help to shrink the nasal passages producing mucus. Has anyone suggested nasal irrigation – snorting 1/4 tsp pure sea salt and 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda dissolved in a tumbler of warm water; one of the docs in our local hospital Head & Neck clinic swears by it and so does my husband.
