Hello Howard, I can tell you all about it. The Forest Ave Business Improvement District (BID) covers approximately a one mile commercial stretch of Forest Ave between Hart Blvd. and Broadway. Owners of commercial property in the BID are required to pay an average “supplemental assessment” in addition to their regular property taxes. The benefits are extra public services such as two full time street cleaners, new trash receptacles, streetscape improvements, Holiday lighting and decoration, and marketing plans aimed at attracting shoppers.
