Can anyone tell me about lasik surgery,its cost,sideeffects,success rate etc?
LASIK stands for Laser In-situ Keratomileusis. What it actually means is that you are reshaping the cornea of an individual so that you can get rid of the need for glasses or for contact lenses i.e. it is a surgical procedure to correct refractive errors. The options are available for a person who is either far-sighted or shortsighted etc. The primary refractive errors are myopia where a person needs to wear minus glasses, hypermetropia where a person needs to wear plus number and astigmatism where a person needs cylindrical power. Now the options that are available to an individual are that he either wears glasses or wears contact lenses. But if he does not want to use either of the two, then he can undergo this procedure, which is called LASIK surgery. One more thing I need to add is that LASIK surgery is for removal of the power for the distance number only.
