Go check it out for yourself and see what you think. I know many kids who really like it, my son was in a summer program where most of the counselors were from Cal State LA. I know adults who attended there for their Masters as Cal State had convenient programs for people who worked full time. Their undergrad degrees were all from top universities, but they didn’t have any big complaints about Cal State. Sure, it’s not the best college out there, but it’s a really good option for many. Cal State LA has a very good Television, Film & Media Studies program, as well as Theatre Arts & Dance, Criminal Justice and Nursing. I think you’ll find that older students who have already been through college tend to have more positive impressions than some young students for who Cal State is their only option.
