Can anyone tell me about animal farm by George Orwell?
I read this book several years ago, so I don’t exactly recall all the details. In essence, the story is a satire for human behavior; in other words, it pokes fun at human nature. Animals at a farm take control of it when they kick the humans out. The animals (very much like humans) talk, think, have envy, and are free-willed. And, although the animals try to be all equal, the pigs are the ones that are above everyone sleeping on the owners’ beds and cooking their meals inside the house, etc. Herein lies the satire – Orwell is calling humans pigs. A small detail I remember is that when the animals are all aiming for equality, the pigs put up a sign that reads, “All animals are equal”. However, when the others start to notice the inequality, the pigs cross out the sign and write instead, “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. Hope this helps!
