Can anyone teach me how to compose music?
The best way to compose music is to listen, listen and listen again. Discover what sort of music moves you most, and learn the language of what tones, melodies, harmonies and cadences provoke these feelings and the different way they do. You will find your own taste and style, a lot of which depends on the culture of where you are from. Indian ragas suitable for Bollywood-style dancing are quite different from Western popular music, which is different from African drumming, and different again to the tone patterns you might find in some Buddhist cultures, which is different from avant-garde minimalism, which is different to a morris dance tune. So many different ways to make music! Then you need to learn a notation, so you can write them down, or get a portable sound recorder and hum the ideas. Get them organised so you can find them.
