Can anyone sum up Platos Cave analogy for me?
The cave is your mind. As it matures and approaches a philosophical understanding, several layers of knowing happen along the way. The analogy is designed for those who have not yet embarked on the journey philosophical. It is meant to instruct a reluctant traveler on the discovery, confusion and likely persecution which will ensue. First, you think you KNOW what IS. Then, you discover that there are alternatives to what you believed to simply BE KNOWLEDGE. Eventually, you find that all answers provided of the physical world have no depth compared to the metaphysical infinity we haven’t even begun to apprehend. Welcome to the journey…
