Hi there. You can’t lose fat from a specific place on your body. It’s a myth. When you do cardio exercise (running, walking, cycling etc) you burn caliroes. If you burn more calories than you eat on average, you will lose fat, and your body will become more toned. The fat you lose will depend on your genetics, not on the type of exercises you do. When you do strength or weight building exercises, you tone and build muscles. This doesn’t burn fat around those muscles, it merely strengthens the muscle itself. In order to lose fat, you need to convince your body that you need the energy that’s stored in the fat – when you do the appropriate amount of exercise and you’re not eating poorly, your body will automatically release that energy, thus emptying the fat cells and making you thinner.
