Can anyone suggest a cheap, Mediterranean holiday resort close to beaches, bars etc and free of children?
I think Cyprus would be a good option. May is a great period for holidays in Cyprus since (unlike other Mediterranean destinations) the weather is hot enough for swimming. Paphos is a good choice. It is a city with ancient history, monuments and museums to visit, great beaches, great food and friendly people. You may also visit the Paphos mountains for a totally different experience of unspoiled green forests just half an hour from the beach. As far as British tourists is concerned, they dominate the Mediterranean so you will not be able to avoid them anywhere. Have a great time whatever you choose..!
