Can anyone state the period when there was no TV network programing for three days?
The weekend of November 23-25 (and the following Monday), 1963…the period following President Kennedy’s assasination. Regular programming resumed on Tuesday November 27th, 1963. The three exceptions: The Judy Garland Show (modified that week’s episode to reflect the events that had just occured in Dallas) on CBS and That Was The Week That Was on NBC (and in the UK on what is today BBC1), which totally scrapped its normal satirical week-in-the-news format to pay tribute to the President on that week’s show, aired as schedued. On that Sunday, NBC’s NFL football game also aired as scheduled with a pre-game tribute to President Kennedy. All other scheduled programming was pre-empted or rescheduled in the days after the president’s funeral.
