Can anyone simplify the tenses of the English language?

The way it works is that an auxilary (helper) word is added to make up the verb. eg Perfect uses “have” or “has” depending whether the subect is singular or plural e.g “I have worked” Imperfect tense adds “were” or “was” e.g “I was working” Pluperfect adds “had” eg “I had worked” Future adds “will” e.g. “I will work”. In addition, you have probably learned the endings on the verbs change to show tense, e.g “ed” is added to the verb to work to show the action has already happened in the past. This is a very difficult topic to simplify, but I hope this helps.
