The weather forecast is nothing like certain as yet: it could be anything, but we’ve had a remarkable wet and windy summer so far. You could be walking the beaches in and building sandcastles, or wrapped up in storm gear watching the waves pounding against the cliffs (It has its own charm) You need to plan wet and sunny activities… Cornwall is a long county, almost two hours drive from one end to the other if the roads aren’t empty, which they won’t be on a bank holiday weekend. Nothing like. The nearest nice beaches in Cornwall, coming in via Exeter, are probably Seaton on the South coast or the stretch between Crackington Haven abnd Trebarwith Strand on the north coast. The last mentioned disappears at high tide, which happens with a lot of Cornish beaches. Consult the tide tables.
