Can anyone share their experience using Clarity Systems for Budgeting/Forecasting/Reporting?
I was the Chief Technology Officer for a consulting firm and we had several clients that used Clarity to varying degrees of success. I have done several evaluations of the tool and how it has been implemented. Clarity is an excellent analytics package and has very good pre-defined key performance indicators that can get a financial performance project moving far more quickly than the alternative packages; however, any customizations or additional reporting is something that requires software development expertise. IT departments generally do not have the required knowledge in this package and are far more capable in Microsoft, Cognos, Oracle or another analytics software package. A common finding from every company that had successfully implemented Clarity was that the Finance group worked with IT to evaluate and implement the system early in the process. Conversely, the companies that did not get IT involved at an early stage all failed with the implementation or continued to struggle
