Can anyone send me implementation plans on vendor-managed inventory and co-managed inventory?
I do not have a firm ‘implementation plan’ to move from buyer owned to supplier managed inventory as there are too many variables in the action. For example if you want the supplier to manager your tool room, hand tools, power tools, gloves and other MRO items that they already supply you. The key is when do you take ownership and make payment. If you have a production raw material supplier that you wish to ‘manage your inventory’, do you want them to have title until you use it, or do you take title on delivery and all they are actually managing is when you receive. So one size or plan does not fit each sitaution. If you want to provide a few more factors in your question, I am sure others would be glad to jump in also with thei rexpereince and ‘how to’s’.
