Can anyone recommend an Italian restaurant in London suitable for proposing to my girlfriend?
Hi Firstly ignore anyone telling you not to propose in a restaurant – if it’s what you want to do then great – you know your own mind. The nicest (and sadly definitely not cheapest) italian restaurant I know is Il Convivio on Ebury Street near Victoria – they are absolutely lovely there and the food is wonderful (especially the black spaghetti with lobster and spring onion – the trick is to have it as a starter – but that’s a separate story) – they have a little bar downstairs with about six seats in to go for a drink after your meal. If you do choose to go there you might want to pop in and tell them before – I’m sure they would be happy to make arrangements like bringing a bottle of champagne over at a prearranged signal or making some special dessert. Of course…you might only want to do this if you’re pretty sure she’ll say yes. Anyway – good luck my friend and best wishes.
