Can anyone recommend a Melbourne hotel?
For a central location which doesn’t cost too much, I recommend the Victoria Hotel. It’s on the same block as the Melbourne Town Hall and is about a three minute walk to Flinders Street Station and Federation Square in one direction, and Bourke Street Mall in the other. The entrance is on Little Collins Street, about thirty metres up from Swanston Street. It isn’t the absolute lap of luxury, but it’s a fantastic hotel for the price (the website has ‘last minute’ deals which can get you a good discount) and it’s close to EVERYTHING. I’ve stayed there a few times, and it’s great!
