Question: I’m after a good English text book that I can study at home in my spare time to better my English in speech, writing, and grammar. I don’t want to be a writer, I just want to be able to express myself better. English is my native language, and my English is OK, but I would like to get it to a top level so I can be confident with my English. I’m just starting university/college by the way (computer course). For example, it’s annoying when you don’t know exactly when to use a semi-colon or em-dash, or whether a comma is superfluous, etc. I guess they key is learning all those grammatical terms and vocab. Then you can grasp the rules & structure. Gee, it wasn’t that long ago that I had to look up what a verb was to refersh my memory. Can anyone recommend a good text book.
