To convert your .VOB files to something more usable you can use MPEG Streamclip, a free download for Mac OS X. It has presets for exporting video with support for the iPhone, iPod, etc. If you still have access to the DVDs (and for future reference) you may find it a lot easier to re-rip them with Handbrake, which is a free all-in-one ripper/encoder that is extremely easy to use. You basically just put in the DVD, select a preset or custom options, and press go. You will be left with a .avi or .mov file on your desktop or wherever you choose to save it. It even works with commercial DVDs that you may rent or buy from the store.
