Can anyone please tell me the symbol for English alphabet “U” in Chinese and Japanese?
in Chinese the “u” sound alone doesn’t exist , because they don’t use alphabet, but ideograms, who are never pronunciated as a single letter. For Japanese, you have two choices (because they use ideograms, but they also use two sillabic alphabet , one to write the foreign names, the other for Japanese words) Here it is your choices for Japanese (you can choose one of them, there’s no difference) ウ (“u” katakana, used for foreign words) う (“u” hiragana, used for Japanese words) Simply choose the one you like the most ^^ If you can’t see them properly, because they are very little, go to these links (they also give the exact order of writing ) http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/writejapan/… http://members.aol.com/writejapan/hiraga…
