I’m looking at picking up a supposedly original 1918 Colt model 1911. I know modern 1911s pretty well but don’t have any idea how to tell what on this piece has been replaced. Anyone have a good knowledge of vintage 1911s and what to look for? Any help would be appreciated. He hasn’t sent me pics yet but he said the serial # is 5XXXXX.
