Java can be a messy program to uninstall. It can leave remnants behind. To clean up those remnants, get CCleaner from here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Install and update it either before or after you UNinstall Java. Once you have uninstalled your current version of Java then run CCleaner to find and clean up the orphaned files left behind by the Java and any other program you have uninstalled. Then download the zip-file of Java so you can install it manually and have a backup for future use should you need it. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
