Can anyone give me some tips on batting?
Most important thing when choosing a bat is making sure you get the proper weight. Just because it is the most expensive, or has the biggest meat doesn’t mean it is best for you. A great way to ensure a bat is not too heavy is by using only your top hand to lift the bat into the ready stance. It is best if you have little difficulty in lifting the bat or you will struggle to play your strokes. Take your time in choosing as it is an investment. As for cricket brands, you will find that most sport stores carry top brands such as Kookaburra,Gray-Nicoles, and Puma. Now I reckon the best way to learn proper technique (for both bowling and batting) is to first of all get a book from the library that covers basic cricket skills. Secondly, join a cricket club or go down on training days and there are more than enough people who are willing to help out with your skills. Thirdly, if you desire to really improve your batting and bowling then practice, practice, and practice some more.
