Can anyone give me a small summary of the book “The Stand” by Stephen King?

Great book! There are two different versions. Stephen King wrote it in the 70s. His publisher said that it was too long and to cut about 500 pages, which he reluctantly did. I read that first version in the late 70s. Years later, in the 90s I think, after he had become successful, his publisher let him publish the full version. Because so much time had passed he did some updates to it. For example, the disease that wipes out 99.44% of humanity, he made it to function more like AIDS. Anyway, the book is about a disease escaping from a U.S. “germ warfare” research center. It wipes out most of humanity. The rest of the book is about two groups of survivors in the U.S. The “good” group settles in Boulder, Colorado. The “bad” group settles somewhere in California. The bad group is lead by an evil man (of course) who is determined to wipe out the good group. It ends with a (crazy) member of the bad group detonating an atomic bomb which wipes out the bad group. Anyway, yeah, good book. Enjoy.
