Can anyone give me a simple basic circuit to turn DC into AC?
Sure. It is actually pretty easy to convert a low voltage dc power source (such as from a car battery) to a high voltage ac source. These types of circuits are called dc-to-ac power inverters whose primary components are usually power MOSFETS (or some other kind of fast switching power transistor), a couple of capicitors, and a center tapped transformer.
