Can anyone explain to me why our government is giving tax rebates to multinational oil corporations?

Because the Republican regime in Washington believes in “trickle-down” economics…that is, give the corporations more money (or let them keep more of their profits), and they will turn around and use that money to create more jobs. Of course, reality says that they keep those profits, as is evidenced buy the fact that oil refineries are NOT operating at 100% capacity, yet the CEOs get hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses every year. They keep the price artifically high to rake in the cash, and keep the tax breaks to keep the cash they rake in. It’s a simple rule of Republican economics 101…give me more money and I’ll pretend I’m giving it back to you. But the tax breaks are only part of the equation. Why is our government SUBSIDIZING oil companies? We are actually paying the oil companies for providing us with oil, THEN we give them tax breaks! Talk about a scam!
