Can anyone explain this Spybot report?
Depending on what other software is installed on your machine, this message may be of great concern… or it may mean nothing at all. If you have a good anti-virus suite installed on your computer; for example, TrendMicro Internet Security or Norton Internet Security, these programs install and maintain their own firewalls. These firewalls replace the built-in Windows firewall and, in doing so, disable the Windows firewall through the registry. This is expected and normal behavior for these applications! Spybot is programmed to look for things that might turn the Windows firewall off, since that is the kind of behavior you would also see from spyware and viruses. So when Spybot performs its scan of your system and sees the registry edit to disable the Windows firewall, it doesn’t know the difference between a legit change and a bogus one, so it generates an alert to let you know.
