Can anyone explain how stock and shares work to a novice thanks?
Stocks and shares are basically small pieces of a company. They are bought and sold on an exchange through a stock broker/market maker/specialist. Those are all the same – just different terms for the same position on different exchanges. Investigate the different investments you have available to you.
